Everything you always wanted to know about spiritual sexlaws but were afraid to ask

In the realm of sex, people use to think they can do and think whatever they want. This is naive. Let me illustrate this by referring to certain laws that govern this universe and the objects in it.

Take the law of gravity, for example. When you step over a cliff, you’re gonna fall down (and probably break your neck). This is a very simple principle that most people will understand. The reason it is so simple is because the consequences of this law are very immediate and can be very dramatic.

A less obvious example (but all the more illustrative of my point) concerns the physical laws of the body. Take a heart (not literally, please). It will only beat so and so many times. When people eat too much or when they smoke and especially when they do both, their hearts will stop beating a lot sooner than if they hadn’t done these things. Smokers love to refer to so-and-so’s ol’ grandaddy who managed to get ninety without ever regretting a single smoke, but in truth, when you end up in a senior citizen’s home, most of your smoking friends have died of cancer, and you can hardly breathe let alone walk the stairs, you’ll be forced to acknowledge that you have sinned against the laws that govern your body and that you have to pay the price.

Now, let’s return to where we started: the realm of sex. Here, too, the law of gravity is important and there are some physical laws to be respected. And, o yeah, you can end up with all kinds of diseases, some of which make you infertile, make you insane, or make you die. But my point here is that there are spiritual laws governing sex as well – laws that aren’t directly visible (although they can often be discerned through the conscience) and the violation of which can take even longer to manifest than the consequences of smoking. Still, those consequences are real, even though they partly stretch beyond our lifes in our physical, mortal bodies into the great, wide open where every secret will be revealed and every thought and action will be judged – not just according to the laws of this universe, but according to the laws of the Lawgiver Himself.

Now, this might sound like baloney in this day and age when we don’t believe in a God who judges anymore but rather in our own divinity and in all sorts of divine helpers that escort us to a higher level of consciousness, but then again we should realize that not so very long ago smoking was being regarded as a very healthy habit and in some cases even prescribed to pregnant women as a means of relaxation (really). So, if you wish to rely on human understanding, think again – you and even the whole world might be wrong!

I’m not gonna talk about the Bible here – if you wanna know something about the Bible, dust it off and read it for yourself. It won’t bite (this happens only very incidentally with people who have been taking hallucinogens).

I just, by way of closing this meditation, wish to refer to a simple but astounding sexuological fact: the bodies of a man and a woman have the remarkable ability to adjust to each other over time, even to the point where initial problems with the compatibility of genitals can be resolved. Just a naked fact that points to man and woman being designed for a long-term sexual relationship. Just a physical law – but physical laws often mirror spiritual laws: they were designed by the same Lawgiver. This Lawgiver is a very strict Judge, yes, but also a Father who doesn’t give up on his rebellious offspring, and even a Son who became one of us to carry the consequences of our lawlessness.

I trust in him and I follow His laws.
Spiritual cancer, chains and death? Nah thanks.
