The sweet sound of nostalgy.. Or is it thin air?

iT'S UNBELIEVABLE! After years and years, I've finally found back my favorite computer-chip music tune (click to listen!). It was a tune that went along with an Automation disk for the Atari ST. Automation was a group of crackers, cracking the code of commercial software, spreading it in the ST community. On this particular disk there was the superb game Rick Dangerous II, but I couldn't play the game since we only had a monochrome monitor and the game only played on a colour screen. Nevertheless, I could hear the music of the intro screen. And boy, I was lost from the start when I heard that tune.
Of course, now, years later, the tune is a bit of a disappointment. You see, I've been phantasizing for years about recording an epic guitar-version of the tune. So in my mind, the tune got greater and greater. Still, I think it's a pretty nice composition, and the special effects on that high-pitched melody are awesome..
O, sweet nostalgy. I can run an Atari ST now from my PC, using an emulator like STeem. Oh, that beautifully ugly grey ST desktop.. Sigh.. Not to mention WordPerfect 5.1, that appeared to be downloadable somewhere on the web. Sigh again..
On the other hand, nostalgy seems to have a lot to do with desires that are essentially illusionary. I've been longing back, from my childhood 'till adolescence, to Jet Set Willy II, the platform game that I was fond of as a kid. But when I could finally play it again using a ZX Spectrum emulator, the thrill was totally gone. What had I been chasing at?
